Job Summary

Senior Traffic Control Engineer responsible for delivering specialist traffic control engineering projects across the UK and internationally. You’ll provide technical consultancy, design packages, RAMS and assurance evidence, and collaborate with highways, structures, drainage and traffic teams while mentoring junior staff, ensuring compliance with UK standards and delivering high-quality traffic signal solutions.

Key Responsibilities

•Deliver specialist technical consultancy and design services for traffic control engineering projects for internal and external clients.
•Produce design packages including layout drawings, design reports, ITS1827 forms and MOVA data sets for junctions and crossings.
•Contribute to RAMS, hazard logs and technical assurance evidence.
•Provide implementation support (FAT, SAT, MOVA Bus priority, SCOOT Validation) and respond to technical queries and gate reviews.
•Coordinate with highways, structures, drainage, geotechnical, environment and traffic teams to integrate technology with civil and electrical works, attend client meetings UK-wide, and mentor junior team members.

Key Requirements

•BEng or equivalent in Electrical, Electronics, or Civil Engineering
•Knowledge of traffic control engineering design standards and traffic signal technology applications
•Proficiency in delivering technically assured deliverables (AutoCAD, Civils3D), equipment schedules, ITS1827 forms, and MOVA designs
•NHSS8 / HERS registered
•Experience in traffic control engineering design and MOVA control
