Key Responsibilities

  • •Determine methods for collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from physical site work, surveys, blueprints, geotechnical data, and other sources for project development and design/construction.
  • •Perform structural engineering work and research/observations of site conditions and buildings/infrastructure to verify conformance with applicable codes and standards.
  • •Develop structural construction drawings, calculation packages, and specifications.
  • •Collaborate as an individual or within cross-functional teams to execute project work that conforms with codes, specifications, and compliance documentation.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
  • •5 to 7 years of post-education experience in structural design and detailing, renovation and/or seismic strengthening for steel, concrete, masonry, and wood/mass timber buildings.
  • •Strong lateral force-resisting system design and detailing experience, with familiarity with the California Building Code and/or the International Building Code.
  • •Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification and proficient knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, and application to project work.
  • •Ability to use structural software and tools (e.g., RAM Structures, RAM Concept, ETABS, PERFORM 3D, RISA, CSI SAFE) and produce technical writing, calculations, and construction administration deliverables.
