Key Responsibilities

•Design, build, operate, and optimize ByteDance’s global network across backbone, data centers, public cloud, and Edge/CDN.
•Partner with cross-functional teams (compute, storage, databases, recommendation systems) to drive network innovation and evolution.
•Collaborate with external vendors and ISPs for device and carrier selection, including testing and verification.
•Monitor and optimize network performance to meet requirements for high availability, scalability, and high performance.
•Participate in ByteDance network global on-call rotation and travel as needed (up to 15%–30%).

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Science/Engineering/Mathematics (or equivalent with 3+ years of work experience).
•Strong understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP, DHCP, BGP, OSPF/IS-IS, and MPLS technologies.
•Experience with network monitoring protocols and tools such as SNMP, sFlow/NetFlow, and Telemetry.
•Familiarity with data center network architecture such as CLOS.
•Hands-on experience with major network devices (e.g., Cisco, Arista, Juniper, H3C, Huawei) and strong communication skills.
