Job Summary

Build and deliver responsible, reliable AI systems on the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences (IFX) team. Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components spanning foundation model training, LLM inference, similarity search, guardrails, evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability. Work with a cross-functional group to advance state-of-the-art LLM optimization for scalability, cost, latency, and throughput using tools such as AWS Ultraclusters, Hugging Face, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, and PyTorch.

Key Responsibilities

•Partner with cross-functional engineers, research scientists, technical program managers, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products.
•Design, develop, test, deploy, and support AI software components including foundation model training and LLM inference.
•Leverage open source and SaaS AI technologies such as AWS Ultraclusters, Hugging Face, VectorDBs, Nemo Guardrails, and PyTorch.
•Invent and introduce state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques to improve scalability, cost, latency, and throughput for production AI systems.
•Contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap for foundational AI systems at Capital One.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 229,900 - 262,400 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields plus 6+ years developing AI/ML algorithms or technologies, or a Master’s degree plus 4+ years.
•6+ years programming with Python, Go, Scala, or Java.
•Deploy scalable, responsible AI solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or equivalent private cloud.
•Design, develop, integrate, deliver, and support complex AI systems.
•Develop AI/ML technologies such as LLM inference, similarity search/VectorDBs, guardrails, and memory using Python and/or C++/C#/Java/Golang.
