Job Summary

Use deep commissioning expertise to improve the commissioning discipline across McDermott, solving complex problems with minimal guidance. Act as a technical resource for less-experienced colleagues, supporting home office deliverables and participating on-site in walk-down inspections, punch listing, testing, and troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and instrument systems. Help develop manuals, procedures, spares, and testing plans, supervising craft personnel and coordinating with the project commissioning team and client.

Key Responsibilities

•Report to the Commissioning Manager and support preparation of home office deliverables with the Principal Commissioning Engineer.
•Participate on-site in walk-down inspections, punch listing, and testing, including troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and instrument component issues.
•Support commissioning team activities such as manuals development, commissioning and start-up procedures, spares development, and equipment checks/tests.
•Participate in commissioning, start-up, and performance testing and resolve operational and maintenance issues during those phases.
•Supervise craft personnel for site pre-commissioning and commissioning and coordinate with other engineers and stakeholders.

Travel: High travel

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering.
•8–15 years of oil and gas experience with a major contractor or consultant.
•Minimum 5 years of experience in a chemical, refinery, or oil & gas processing facility.
•Prefer 2+ years of commissioning and start-up experience in the chemical, refinery, or oil & gas industry.
•Ability to effectively communicate technical solutions and concepts; strong MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio skills.
