Job Summary

Develop and deliver highway infrastructure projects with the UKGCC Highway team, working through design stages from feasibility and planning to detailed design and construction support. Lead and improve CAD/BIM drawing production in line with WSP and client CAD standards, supervise technicians’ output, and help build BIM documentation such as BIM Execution Plans and standards. Manage multiple projects, contribute to Lean efficiency, and ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.

Key Responsibilities

•Work on infrastructure schemes and support a team of technicians by assisting their development to improve knowledge and strengths.
•Play a proactive role in the design process and contribute across several projects at the same time.
•Ensure drawings are produced according to relevant technical standards and WSP/client CAD standards documentation.
•Develop CAD and BIM skills within the team, support strategic BIM documentation, and drive Lean process improvements.
•Supervise and review CAD output from others, assist resource management, and ensure compliance with health and safety policies and procedures.

Key Requirements

•Diploma or degree level qualification in Civil Engineering (or equivalent) with 12+ years’ relevant post-graduate experience.
•Autodesk AutoCAD or Bentley MicroStation user certification.
•Professional qualification such as EngTech with a recognised institution.
•UK Highways project experience and working knowledge of UK design standards (e.g., DMRB, MfS, TSRGD, HCD, IAN 184).
•Ability to understand and communicate BIM and CAD standards for civil engineering projects.
