Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide services and support the execution of key occupational health and hygiene processes at the operation.
  • •Assist with injury management, workers’ compensation, and Coal Mine Workers’ Health Scheme assessments; escalate high-risk cases as required.
  • •Coordinate occupational hygiene sampling programs, fit testing, and wellness activities.
  • •Support the drug and alcohol testing program, including supply management and overflow testing.
  • •Maintain accurate health records and confidentiality, prepare monthly health and safety reports, and manage inventory of first aid and testing equipment.

Key Requirements

  • •Tertiary qualifications in a Health Sciences-related area (e.g., Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Physiotherapy, or Occupational Hygiene).
  • •Demonstrated experience working in occupational health and hygiene, preferably in Queensland coal mining.
  • •Demonstrated knowledge of Queensland coal mining health legislation, including the Coal Mine Workers’ Health Scheme and applicable Recognised Standards.
  • •Demonstrated knowledge of health risk management principles and implementing continuous improvement.
  • •Proactive approach with demonstrated leadership ability and strong interpersonal skills, with commitment to Zero Harm.
