Key Responsibilities

  • •Support bid and project delivery teams by reviewing and negotiating engineering services contracts, subcontracts, and joint venture/alliance and related commercial agreements
  • •Proactively manage risk and drive regulatory compliance including Health & Safety and competition law, following internal governance policies and procedures
  • •Advise project delivery teams on contractual issues during project delivery
  • •Advise on the WSP insurance programme and manage claims with insurers
  • •Develop and implement internal training and education programmes

Key Requirements

  • •7+ years PQE with experience advising the construction/infrastructure or engineering industry
  • •A Law degree and eligibility to hold a Practising Certificate with the NZLS
  • •In-house legal experience in Engineering or Construction
  • •Extensive experience reviewing and negotiating engineering services or construction contracts, subcontracts, joint venture, alliance agreements and related commercial agreements
  • •Broad knowledge of New Zealand’s legislative and regulatory framework including Health & Safety, litigation, competition law, IP, general corporate and privacy law
