Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide full-scope personal financial counseling services to service members and families at assigned military installations.
  • •Conduct one-on-one counseling, consultations, briefings/presentations, and provide referral resources outside counseling sessions.
  • •Develop and provide informational financial materials to service members and families.
  • •Coordinate, publicize, and deliver Personal Financial Management classes/workshops across the military lifecycle, including pre- and post-deployment topics.
  • •Manage duty to warn situations per DoD protocol and support virtual counseling using secure electronic communication methods when authorized.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree required (may consider associate degree plus 4 years’ experience, or high school diploma plus 6 years’ experience).
  • •3+ years of financial counseling experience.
  • •Must be a U.S. citizen and speak fluent English.
  • •Must be able to obtain a favorably adjudicated Tier 2 investigation and pass the Congressionally Mandated Disclosures for OCI process.
  • •Must have one of: Accredited Financial Counselor (AFC), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), or Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) (DL driver license also listed).
