Job Summary

Develop and optimize scalable thermal solutions for AI/HPC clusters and data centers. You will evaluate cooling architectures, build and refine thermal models, run tests across component to rack levels, and collaborate with system architects, platform engineers, and operations teams to ensure reliable performance. You will document assumptions, participate in design reviews, and contribute to cross-functional efforts to achieve efficient cooling, high reliability, and energy efficiency across high-density AI/HPC deployments.

Key Responsibilities

•Support the thermal design of AI/HPC cluster solutions, including compute racks, cooling loops, and facility interfaces.
•Assist in evaluating cooling architectures (air cooling, direct liquid cooling, hybrid approaches) and identifying trade-offs in performance, cost, complexity, and reliability.
•Build and refine thermal and airflow models for system/cluster/data center concepts using industry tools (e.g., OpenFOAM, ANSYS, FloTHERM, or similar).
•Contribute to flow-network modeling for liquid cooling and coolant distribution analyses to ensure adequate flow, pressure, and temperature margins.
•Help define and execute test plans to validate thermal performance at component, system, and rack/cluster levels.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's, Master0s or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering with expertise in thermal management of electronics
•Strong fundamentals in thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and heat transfer
•Experience with thermal/CFD simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL, FloTHERM, OpenFOAM)
•Familiarity with instrumentation, data collection, and validation practices
•Ability to communicate clearly and work with cross-functional teams to document results
