Key Responsibilities

  • •Support medium- and low-voltage shore power projects from application through detailed design and construction.
  • •Perform detailed electrical design for grounded and ungrounded shore power systems, including upstream grounded power distribution.
  • •Develop electrical design deliverables such as one-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring diagrams, conduit/cable sizing and routing, substation/equipment layouts, equipment specifications, and SCADA/metering/communications systems.
  • •Conduct electrical engineering calculations and design analyses using applicable standards (NEC, NESC, UFC, CSTO, IEEE, OP5), including protective relaying and power system studies (short-circuit analysis, time-current coordination, relay settings, arc flash analysis, protection scheme development).
  • •Develop shore power construction plans/specifications/cost estimates and provide support for permitting/engineering reviews and construction inspections to ensure compliance; coordinate with clients, government, other disciplines, and vendors.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an ABET-accredited college/university (or equivalent).
  • •5+ years of relevant post-education experience as an electrical engineer providing design deliverables for capital projects.
  • •Ability to obtain Professional Engineering registration within one year if not already licensed.
  • •Due to client requirements, US citizenship is required.
  • •Knowledge of relevant engineering/electrical construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements; NFPA 70, NFPA 101, and NFPA 780 knowledge.
  • •Revit and AutoCAD proficiency; SKM Power Tools, Easy Power, and/or ETAP proficiency.
  • •Travel up to 25% may be required depending on project needs.
