Job Summary

Lead a cross-functional product pod within the Marketplace team, partnering with a Product Manager to define technical and product strategy and drive execution. Own the team’s OKRs while coaching and managing full-stack engineers across backend, frontend, iOS, and Android. Help scale the search and hiring experience for homeowners, improve marketplace performance through experiments (A/B testing), and maintain the infrastructure powering Thumbtack’s two-sided marketplace.

Key Responsibilities

•Define and evolve the technical vision and strategy for the pod.
•Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, applied science, and data science on strategy and execution.
•Drive team execution against pod-specific OKRs.
•Coach and manage full-stack engineers across backend, frontend, iOS, and Android.
•Be accountable for maintaining and scaling the marketplace infrastructure owned by the team.

Key Requirements

•2+ years of experience in an engineering management role.
•5+ years of experience building software at scale.
•Strong technical skills, including hands-on code reviews, debugging, and systems design.
•Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills.
•Experience shaping technical and product strategy with cross-functional partners and using A/B testing for decision making.
