Key Responsibilities

  • •Ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation and maintenance of the dredger’s main/auxiliary engines, pumps, compressors, and machinery.
  • •Assist the Chief Engineer in managing engine-room operations and assigned equipment in a safe, operational condition.
  • •Carry out planned preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs of mechanical and auxiliary equipment, including dredging-related machinery and systems.
  • •Monitor machinery performance and operating parameters (including fuel consumption, lubrication, and cooling) and respond to breakdowns, alarms, and emergencies.
  • •Maintain accurate engine-room logs, maintenance records, checklists, and technical documentation while ensuring compliance with ISM/SMS/SOLAS/MARPOL and safe working procedures (e.g., Permit to Work, Lock-Out/Tag-Out).

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree in marine/mechanical engineering.
  • •Certified as 2nd Engineer in accordance with STCW regulation.
  • •Basic & advanced STCW trainings.
  • •Medical fitness certificate as per ILO/MLC requirement.
  • •Ability to conduct planned maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs while following vessel procedures and safety requirements.
