Key Responsibilities

  • •Update the case management system with file allocations, diary records, court dates, directions, applications, orders, and general activity to ensure accurate progress tracking.
  • •Draft routine court documents (e.g., AOS, Notice of Change, Court Orders, Witness Summons, and precedent-based applications).
  • •Liaise with courts, counsel, opponents, experts, witnesses, insureds, and brokers to progress the case, including requesting/providing updates and extensions.
  • •Follow up on outstanding instructions, documents, and actions to ensure responses are received within required timescales, including payment requests and chasing deadlines.
  • •Support file handlers with ad hoc tasks such as recovery of client outlay, minor investigations on liability/quantum, MI/admin, drafting write-off forms, and file closure/transfer activities.

  • •Experience of working in a legal environment (desirable).
  • •Good communication skills and experience negotiating with and influencing third parties to obtain information.
  • •Ability to work under own initiative, prioritise and organise your workload following a semi-prescribed programme of work.
  • •IT literate with proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience using a claims/case management system.
  • •GCSE grade A-C in Maths and English (or equivalent).
