Job Summary

Support Corporate Land operations by analyzing and interpreting oil and gas leases, contracts, and title documents to help establish and maintain legal ownership of real property assets. Assist with division order ownership analysis, cost ownership tracking, and Council of Petroleum Accountants Society (COPAS) data integrity to support partner billing. Work with spatial data for surface and mineral ownership, contribute to relinquishment/termination activities, and deliver a final intern presentation.

Key Responsibilities

•Analyze and interpret oil and gas leases and contracts to resolve legal ownership, acreage figures, payment amounts, and obligation dates.
•Examine title documents (including division order title opinions) to calculate the decimal of ownership attributable to production.
•Maintain legal ownership using documentation such as conveyances, probate, and court orders in line with state laws and regulations.
•Interpret marketing arrangements to determine remittance and disbursement to/from ConocoPhillips.
•Support cost ownership and COPAS data maintenance for accurate partner billing, including termination/relinquishment activities.

Key Requirements

•Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer and/or education institution.
•Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Accounting, Finance, Energy Management, Agricultural Economics, Economics, or related field (or foreign equivalent).
•Current level in college: Freshman through Senior.
•Expected graduation date: Fall 2027 through Spring/Fall 2030.
•Available for internship starting mid-late May 2027 and able to commit a minimum of ten continuous weeks.
