Job Summary

Perform and analyze low to high complexity diagnostic tests in the relevant section and provide phlebotomy services, including difficult blood draws. Collaborate with the Team Lead on test appropriateness, results and any additional testing, ensure quality control, and support equipment maintenance and inventory while adhering to ISO15189/CAP/JCI standards.

Job Function: Laboratory & Clinical Operations

Key Responsibilities

•Actively participates in the technical and analytical work of the section.
•Liaises with the Team Lead on appropriateness of tests, results, and additional testing as required.
•Monitors, records, reports back results, and discusses areas of concern to rectify issues.
•Identifies problems that may affect test performance or reporting and takes corrective action or notifies the Team Lead.
•Collects laboratory specimens and performs assigned laboratory procedures, reporting abnormal findings to appropriate staff.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering or a related field (Required).
•Minimum 4 years’ experience in clinical laboratories as a licensed Clinical Scientist or Technologist (Required).
•Minimum 3 years of Phlebotomy experience in a pediatric hospital (Required).
•Minimum 3 years as a Technologist in a CAP or ISO15189 laboratory (Preferred).
•Minimum 2 years in GCC (Preferred).
