Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop RFQs for plastic injection molds and support documentation work for transfer molds from other Eaton locations.
  • •Perform DFM and product reviews, including tool design reviews and manufacturing coordination with overseas suppliers/tool shops.
  • •Follow up on tool trials and part validation, and lead tooling validations at production sites to support successful releases.
  • •Coordinate tooling correction actions for new and ongoing manufacturing issues, including root-cause analysis.
  • •Lead engineering changes for new product revisions and support diagnosis/repair of chronic mold issues while coordinating with product engineering and quality assurance.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Plastics Engineering (Polymers), Tool Engineering, or related careers.
  • •3–5 years of experience in plastic injection mold design & manufacturing, including small and precise plastic part designs.
  • •Experience with molding processes such as silicone, thermoplastic, thermoset, extrusion, and overmolding.
  • •Knowledge of mold manufacturing methods, GD&T, hot runner and cold runner systems, and reverse engineering.
  • •Ability to perform mold flow analysis reviews and use cost out/project management and problem-solving tools (5 Why’s, 8D’s).
