Key Responsibilities

  • •Oversee the full data science pipeline for wholesale power and gas applications, from R&D and model development through deployment and ML model library management.
  • •Coordinate the ML lifecycle, including pre-model analytics, model selection, feature engineering, post-model evaluation, and ongoing model refinements.
  • •Develop and continuously improve production-grade forecasting and analytics models for wholesale power and gas markets, with a focus on ERCOT and PJM.
  • •Build and interpret models of key drivers of power and gas price formation (dispatch, congestion, fuel prices, weather, load patterns, and participant behavior).
  • •Create data visualizations, communicate technical details to stakeholders, and integrate model outputs into downstream business processes with performance tracking and monitoring in cloud environments.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 140,000 - 180,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Strong technical knowledge in deep learning and time series modeling for power or gas market contexts (e.g., GBM, LSTM, Transformer, CNN, VAE, GAN, GNN).
  • •3+ years (Data Scientist) industry experience applying modeling techniques in successful commercial energy applications.
  • •Solid understanding of ERCOT and PJM market fundamentals, including price formation, nodal pricing, dispatch, and fuel market dynamics.
  • •Experience with LLMs for market intelligence and analytics (e.g., summarization, RAG, workflow automation).
  • •Advanced degree, preferably Ph.D., in Engineering, Math, Physics, or related field; plus strong programming (Python, SQL), ML tooling (PyTorch, TensorFlow), and production deployment/MLOps (Azure or AWS).
