Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage day-to-day U.S. export compliance operations to ensure strict adherence to EAR.
  • •Review and approve export documentation, including ECCN classification and export licensing activities/Technology Control Plans (TCPs).
  • •Handle South Korean NCT MOTIE approval paperwork for exporting, licensing abroad, or sharing with foreign entities.
  • •Conduct technology audits across IP, R&D, and manufacturing, and enforce protected zones for compliant control of critical technologies.
  • •Advise on cross-border transactions (M&A, joint ventures, overseas manufacturing) to prevent violations of South Korea’s industrial technology protection laws.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in law, international business, compliance, or a related field, with 5+ years of direct export compliance experience.
  • •In-depth knowledge of the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), including ECCN classification, deemed exports, and licensing procedures.
  • •Ability to read complex technical specifications to accurately classify the company’s technology.
  • •Strong skills conducting compliance risk assessments, audits, and red-flag reviews.
  • •Comfort operating in a compliance/legal framework across cross-border technology transfers and safeguarding obligations.
