Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform the daily tasks of the Water Treatment Operator, including daily operations, inspections, equipment monitoring, and preventative maintenance.
  • •Monitor water and waste treatment control systems and recording devices; conduct lab testing of water treatment effluent for process control.
  • •Assist with adjusting water treatment effluent process control to remain within discharge limits and perform daily testing/operational maintenance of plant water softeners.
  • •Load and move by-product trailers and tankers, act as the daily point of contact for deliveries and pick-ups, and complete by-product bill of lading/security seal requirements.
  • •Complete and organize daily records and paperwork, clean and organize water treatment work areas, and support department needs such as snow removal.

Key Requirements

  • •1-2 years’ experience in operations and maintenance of water treatment plants with ancillary/auxiliary equipment and distribution systems.
  • •Must possess or obtain within 12 months of employment a Water Treatment Operator Certification.
  • •Ability to read, write, and comprehend English to communicate effectively.
  • •Knowledge of maintenance/water treatment terminology to communicate with the department and technical persons by phone.
  • •Valid driver’s license; experience driving a tractor/trailer or yard truck is preferred.
