Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as an executive key developer for R&D switchgear projects and lead complex kinematic multibody dynamic subsystem mechanism designs.
  • •Perform engineering calculations (transmission efficiency, speed/endurance, system efficiency) and drive FEA/MBD analysis and design verification/prototyping/validation testing.
  • •Select materials and manufacturing methodologies (e.g., thermoset/thermoplastic injection, forged/welded/stamping, machining, sheet metal, sintering) and develop concept designs using selection methodologies.
  • •Lead topology optimization studies and apply standards/environmental/cost-out opportunities and new technologies/lean approaches.
  • •Lead patent application efforts, define risks and mitigations on DFMEA/PFMEA, and support NPI transitions with control plans and quality outputs.

Key Requirements

  • •BS Mechanical Engineering (MSc/PhD preferred).
  • •Minimum 8 years of experience in multi-body dynamic system projects or academic studies.
  • •Prefer experience designing load break switchgear/circuit breaker switching devices and mechanisms.
  • •Green belt in DFSS and/or experience over finite elements are preferred.
  • •Expert CAD design and design data management system capability, including tools such as MSc ADAMS and Ansys motion (preferred).
