Job Summary

Observe and monitor incoming scrap metal deliveries to verify they meet quality and quantity specifications while complying with company Health, Safety, and Environmental standards. Inspect shipments received by truck, rail, or ship; record inspection data; and coordinate with operations and commercial teams on delivery quality. Direct safe unloading, assist throughout the yard, report equipment issues, and support internal control and compliance processes.

Key Responsibilities

•Strictly adhere to Health, Safety, and Environmental standards and provide a safe environment for employees, customers, and visitors.
•Inspect scrap metal shipments received by truck, rail car, or ship to ensure they meet specifications and are free from environmental hazards.
•Correctly identify and record inspection data (weight, grade, content, and quantity) and notify supervisors of problems with remedial recommendations.
•Direct unloading of vehicles delivering scrap to ensure safe, orderly traffic flow within the facility and provide backup assistance throughout the yard as needed.
•Report equipment deficiencies or malfunctions requiring maintenance or repair and support internal controls, including communicating policy violations or illegal actions.

Key Requirements

•High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent experience in a similar role preferred.
•Adhere to all Metals Recycling Business Health, Safety, and Environmental standards.

•Ability to perform physical activities required (including lifting up to 50 pounds and frequent standing/walking on uneven ground).
•Visual acuity for close detail work and documentation, with attention to detail and continuous awareness.
