Job Summary

TIG Welder needed for RTX/Collins Aerospace in Burnsville, MN for 2nd shift. Perform high-precision welding, brazing, and cutting of nitronics, aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and SAE 4130 steels in an FAA-regulated environment. Read blueprints, interpret schematics, repair and document work, and collaborate with technicians and engineering to ensure quality welds.

Key Responsibilities

•Position parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or welding positions.
•Select torch, torch tips, filler rods, and fluxes prescribed by blueprints, welding diagrams, and operation sheets.
•Weld, braze, and cut nitronics, aluminum, titanium, stainless steel, and SAE 4130 steels according to blueprint specifications and operation sheet instructions.
•Examine welds for bead size, penetration, and other specifications.
•Follow blueprints, guidelines, and/or diagrams to ensure product specifications and tolerance levels are met.

Key Requirements

•HS Diploma with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
•Must have previous welding experience in a manufacturing or service environment.
•2+ years’ experience with aviation manufacturing or repair is preferred.
•Holds or has ability to obtain Preliminary MRB authorization.
•Experience reviewing CMM/SB documentation and creating mark-ups.
