Job Summary

We are seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to advance Fortinet’s FWB WAT Team by developing and enhancing web security features, collaborating with Cloud/Intelligence teams, and guiding product Roadmaps and certifications. Candidates will work across signature engines, CSRF protection, WAF scripting, and API security, delivering high-quality features throughout the lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

•Developing and enhancing features in signature engine, header security, CSRF, WAF scripting, API security, Bot mitigation and so on.
•Enhance debugging and unit testing tools for Web security features.
•Keep abreast of the latest Web security events and provide expertise on Web security event response and internal training.
•Work with the Cloud and Intelligence teams to improve features and intelligence DB in cloud deployment, especially on false positive and evasion cases.
•Work with the Product Management teams on the product roadmaps, new features design, and product certifications.

Key Requirements

•8+ years of relevant work experience.
•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related technical program.
•Proficient in C language under Linux (gcc, gdb, libc) and familiar with GNU Makefile.
•Solid knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS/HTTP2 protocol and Web security concepts (OWASP Top 10).
•Experience with Linux systems and troubleshooting; hands-on development with servers/proxies (Nginx/Apache/Haproxy).
