Lead commercial legal strategy for Coinbase’s most important payments partnerships within the Business Legal team. Draft, negotiate, and execute tailored agreements with banks, payment networks, fintechs, and strategic partners, including novel deal structures. •Own drafting, negotiation, and execution of highly tailored commercial agreements with payments and fintech partners, including first-of-their-kind deal structures.
•Develop novel agreement frameworks and provide practical, business-centric legal advice balancing risk with speed and flexibility.
•Partner cross-functionally with Business Development, Sales, Product, Engineering, Finance/Tax, and Compliance to solve problems, build partnerships, and close deals quickly.
•Build scalable commercial playbooks and risk-mitigation strategies to accelerate deal timelines and increase business flexibility across the payments portfolio.
•Identify legal issues beyond core expertise and coordinate resolution with specialists across the Coinbase legal team and outside counsel.

•5+ years of transactional legal experience in-house or at a leading law firm, with a JD (or equivalent) and an active U.S. state license.
•Draft, structure, and negotiate complex commercial agreements with fintechs, banks, payment processors, payment networks, and/or payment issuers/acquirers.
•Navigate highly regulated financial services environments and translate regulatory changes into actionable commercial guidance.
•Independently manage a high-volume deal pipeline while maintaining precision in drafting and risk assessment.
•Use generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
