Job Summary

Platform Monitoring Engineer / Incident Manager responsible for on-call monitoring, incident coordination, and communicating with merchants to maintain platform reliability. Drive problem management, telemetry improvements, and cross-functional collaboration to reduce merchant impact and improve monitoring frameworks using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog, Dynatrace, and Splunk.

Key Responsibilities

•On-call monitoring in a follow the sun model, observing platform and merchant performance to detect issues and mitigate risks in partnership with Engineering teams.
•Coordinate the mitigation, recovery, and resolution of high-impact incidents, ensuring rapid and effective cross-team responses.
•Communicate with merchants in real time during incidents and provide accurate, updated information to senior management.
•Perform problem management by analyzing incident trends, identifying systemic weaknesses, and advocating for long-term fixes.
•Collaborate with Operations, Product, and Engineering to grow and improve monitoring strategy, automate tooling, and document learnings.

Key Requirements

•At least 5 years of experience with incident management, problem management, incident client communication, and platform monitoring operations.
•Experience with problem management practices - identifying trends across incidents, conducting root cause investigations and driving preventative action.
•Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical situations clearly to a diverse audience via dashboards and written documents.
•Willing to participate in on-call rotation and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
•Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack; experience with observability platforms like Datadog, Dynatrace, Splunk.
