Key Responsibilities

  • •Own reliability for Volcano end-to-end by defining and driving SLOs, error budgets, and incident response practices across all Volcano services.
  • •Design and build multi-region Kubernetes infrastructure, networking, and the data plane for Volcano’s edge deployment pipeline and backend-as-a-service capabilities.
  • •Establish the GitOps and CI/CD backbone, including deployment automation, canary pipelines, and preview environment provisioning using ArgoCD, Helm, and Terraform/Terragrunt.
  • •Design, operate, and harden multi-tenant PostgreSQL clusters and other data services (Redis caching, object storage) with focus on isolation, performance, and disaster recovery.
  • •Instrument services with SLIs and build dashboards, alerts, and runbooks using Datadog, Prometheus, and Grafana; collaborate with OCTO, product engineering, and security on reliability and compliance.
  • •Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies for Volcano’s greenfield architecture, including edge runtimes, serverless compute, vector databases, and AI-native infrastructure components.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 150,000 - 170,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •BS in Computer Science (or equivalent) with substantial experience at Staff or Principal IC level in SRE/Platform Engineering.
  • •Proven track record building SRE or platform engineering practices for developer-facing platforms or PaaS/SaaS products, ideally at greenfield stage.
  • •Kubernetes expertise including multi-tenant cluster design, networking (CNI, service mesh, ingress), autoscaling, and security hardening.
