Key Responsibilities

  • •Define and lead a state-level sales strategy using state education agency relationships, cooperative procurement vehicles, and legislative funding opportunities to drive revenue growth.
  • •Build and sustain high-value government relationships with state superintendents, commissioners, board members, and legislative stakeholders; represent the company at state capitals and policy forums.
  • •Drive revenue attainment through complex, multi-year state contracts, RFP/bid responses, and cooperative purchasing agreements with disciplined pipeline management and precise forecasting.
  • •Partner cross-functionally with Government Relations, Sales, Marketing, Product, and Customer Success to align state initiatives with enterprise priorities and deliver a seamless customer experience.
  • •Use CRM, pipeline analytics, and performance data to monitor state education policy trends and turn market intelligence into actionable opportunities.

Key Requirements

  • •Deep knowledge of K-12 education policy, state agency structures, and government procurement processes, including RFPs, cooperative purchasing, and state/federal funding mechanisms.
  • •Proven track record in public sector or government-facing sales, closing complex multi-year state contracts and managing significant revenue targets.
  • •Ability to build executive-level government relationships and navigate legislative and policy environments with credibility and influence.
  • •Strategic thinker with strong financial acumen who can translate policy trends and market signals into revenue opportunities.
  • •Bachelor’s degree in education, public policy, business administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience), with at least 10 years of progressive sales or business development experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership.
