Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide expert guidance on handling export-controlled commodities, material, software, technical data, and defense services under ITAR and EAR
  • •Drive continuous improvement of SpaceX’s export compliance program by drafting/updating policies and procedures and optimizing compliance tools
  • •Partner with engineering teams on jurisdiction and classification determinations for hardware, software, and technology used in rocket and satellite systems
  • •Support engagements with the Departments of State and Commerce and prepare/manage export and sanctions licenses and license exceptions/exemptions
  • •Lead investigations for potential non-compliance, implement corrective actions, and conduct internal compliance audits

Key Requirements

  • •JD from an ABA-accredited law school
  • •3+ years advising on U.S. federal regulatory matters, including export controls, sanctions, national-security, or trade matters
