Key Responsibilities

  • •Ensure reliably launching astronauts and payloads by designing and executing efficient vehicle, payload, and spacecraft processing.
  • •Collaborate with disciplines for Falcon 9, Dragon, Starship, and launch pad systems to optimize process health.
  • •Identify high-risk processes and problems during processing or refurbishment and proactively implement improvements.
  • •Lead root cause and corrective action investigations to solve high-impact issues.
  • •Participate in preliminary/critical design reviews and support design for quality/manufacturability, risk quantification/mitigation, and appropriate test/inspection validation methods.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or physics.
  • •1+ years of professional or internship experience in a quality, manufacturing, or design engineering role.
  • •Experience supporting production of complex electro-mechanical, mechanical, or composites systems during production ramp-up.
  • •Knowledge of quality tools such as Lean principles, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, corrective action, APQP, metrology, PFMEA, and control plans.
  • •Ability to pass an Air Force background check for Vandenberg Space Force Base.
