Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage and grow an App team of six engineers (backend, frontend, QA), partnering daily with Product, Design, and UX Research while staying hands-on.
  • •Own customer-facing data APIs and the microservices behind them used by enterprise customers to access their data.
  • •Own the Analytics product (frontend, filtering, and APIs powering custom reports) and customer reporting including QuickSight reports and gold-layer datasets.
  • •Deploy and operate production services, owning observability and SLOs and leading the incident process and on-call rotation (Kubernetes on AWS).
  • •Modernize backend estate by consolidating on Kotlin and planning pragmatic paths for legacy Groovy and Scala services; co-own application-side data pipeline migration out of the monolith.

Key Requirements

  • •7+ years of software engineering experience with deep backend expertise on the JVM (Kotlin strongly preferred).
  • •2+ years leading an engineering team with genuine people responsibility (hiring, 1:1s, performance, delivery) while staying hands-on.
  • •Experience designing, operating, and evolving microservices in production (Kubernetes, AWS, observability, SLOs, incident management, on-call).
  • •Strong SQL skills and data modeling experience to reason about datasets behind customer reports.
  • •Experience with RESTful, service-oriented architectures serving external customers at scale.
