Job Summary

Lead a core engineering squad responsible for building and enhancing Tamara’s payment solutions. You’ll guide 4–6 engineers (Backend, Frontend, QA) with technical direction, quality practices (code reviews, testing), and roadmap execution. Drive engineering best practices including CI/CD and observability, manage delivery timelines, identify and mitigate risks, and collaborate with Product, UX, designers, analysts, and other engineering leaders to support team and individual growth.

Key Responsibilities

•Inspire and motivate a team of 4-6 engineers within a single squad, providing clear direction aligned to company strategy.
•Develop talent through coaching, mentoring, candid feedback, and effective 1:1s to attract, develop, and retain engineering talent.
•Provide technical direction and maintain strong understanding of team software architecture, facilitating technical decisions with senior engineers.
•Plan and manage team execution to deliver roadmap commitments, breaking down complex topics into tasks and mitigating risks with stakeholders.
•Partner with Product and business leadership to align technical goals with product priorities and ensure consistency with other engineering managers and the architecture board.

Key Requirements

•1-3 years of experience in an engineering leadership role (e.g., Team Lead, Tech Lead, or Engineering Manager) leading a team of at least 4 engineers.
•Strong software development background with experience in Java, Go, and Kubernetes.
•Experience with CI/CD, messaging queues, and cloud services.
•Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment.
•Understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
