Key Responsibilities

  • •Own the end-to-end sensor strategy for client PC platforms (vision, camera, audio, environmental, biometric, haptics, etc.).
  • •Define architecture requirements for next-generation sensor subsystems (silicon IP, firmware, drivers, calibration, algorithms).
  • •Partner with silicon, platform, and OS teams to deliver power, performance, and user-experience metrics.
  • •Drive technology evaluations and POCs for emerging sensing modalities (time-of-flight, radar, UWB, environmental).
  • •Establish sensor-related security, privacy, and quality standards and represent AMD with OEM/ODM partners.
  • •Maintain and execute sensor action plans including N+2+ planning, PoC demos, and production-ready software stacks.
  • •Mentor a growing sensor team.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related discipline (required).
  • •Translate market trends into product-ready sensor solutions for client PC platforms.
  • •Deep knowledge of PC-relevant sensor technologies (e.g., IMUs, proximity, ambient light, camera, audio, biometric, environmental).
  • •Proficiency in sensor fusion algorithms, signal processing, and edge machine-learning inference.
  • •Experience delivering sensor drivers/firmware for Windows, Linux, or Android, including familiarity with ACPI, HID, and Sensor Class drivers.
