Key Responsibilities

  • •Interpret domestic and international sanctions (e.g., UAE, US, UK, EU, UN) and maintain awareness of sanctions impacting the bank and its branches/subsidiaries.
  • •Investigate complex and high-risk sanctions alerts and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal compliance policies and procedures.
  • •Review and disposition sanctions screening alerts, escalating concerns, trends, and patterns to the Compliance Manager.
  • •Coordinate with business units to resolve alerts and handle sanctions referrals in accordance with bank policy without breaching applicable sanctions guidance.
  • •Support compliance risk improvements, maintain confidential record keeping and retention, and prepare monthly and ad-hoc management reports with relevant metrics.

Key Requirements

  • •3+ years banking experience, including compliance experience.
  • •Compliance risk professional with experience in one or more risk/compliance roles, including relevant sanctions experience.
  • •Knowledge of sanctions regulations and guidance.
  • •Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail with good judgment for complex issues.
  • •Professional qualification (e.g., ACAMS, CGSS) is desirable.
