Key Responsibilities

  • •Generate CADD designs and accurate design-phase deliverables including drawings, models, plans/profiles, specifications, and material lists.
  • •Collect, compile, and analyze project data from site surveys, blueprints, schematics, technical drawings, and written/verbal specifications to support drafting and design work.
  • •Draft substation physical and civil layouts, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams while ensuring accuracy and compliance with client and WSP CADD standards.
  • •Prepare and verify calculations and design change orders, interpret contract plans/specifications, and resolve or escalate errors and technical issues.
  • •Conduct quality control design reviews for completed design packages and coordinate with engineers and cross-functional teams; provide guidance to entry-level drafting/design support staff.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma.
  • •Minimum of 9 years of relevant post-education experience with drafting and design support in the discipline.
  • •Experience with discipline-specific design software (AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, MicroStation, Inventor).
  • •Experience with utility transmission and distribution substation physical designs up to 500 kV.
  • •Familiarity with IEEE, NEC, NESC, and RUS standards.
