Job Summary

Serve as a strategic legal partner to the Air & Space Defense Systems Strategic Business Unit, advising program leadership on contract administration, compliance, and disputes. Lead review, drafting, and negotiation of government and commercial agreements—including international transactions—while advising on U.S. and foreign laws. Manage outside counsel and the general counsel budget, present legal topics to senior leaders, and help drive compliant solutions and special initiatives across programs.

Key Responsibilities

•Advise ASDS program leadership on new business captures and program execution matters, including contract administration, compliance, and disputes/litigation.
•Review, draft, negotiate, and advise on government and commercial agreements (including contracts/subcontracts and international transactions).
•Lead and support negotiations of agreements and transactions of all types and complexity.
•Advise on U.S. and foreign laws and regulations to develop compliant solutions aligned to business objectives.
•Manage outside counsel and the general counsel budget; present legal topics to executives and provide training to business/legal personnel.

Key Requirements

•Typically requires 12+ years of legal experience, including 5+ years in aerospace and defense or high-tech industries (law firm, in-house, or government).
•Juris Doctorate from an accredited U.S. law school.
•Currently admitted and in good standing with at least one U.S. State bar, and eligible to represent Raytheon as in-house counsel in the job location.
•Experience counseling on U.S. Government, commercial, and international contract and compliance issues (e.g., FAR/DFARS, TINA, FCPA, Anti-Boycott, data rights, Global Trade).
•Experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a wide variety of government and commercial agreements, including international transactions.
