Key Responsibilities

  • •Oversee and direct day-to-day operation and maintenance activities for the cogeneration facility and associated distribution infrastructure.
  • •Provide weekly updates to the Regional Manager and Director of Operations throughout the cogen startup process.
  • •Lead interviewing and hiring for site operations staff and develop operating and safety procedures for the new plant startup.
  • •Oversee commissioning and testing activities and work with controls integrators and commissioning agents to optimize and tune the automated facility for reliable operation.
  • •Supervise plant staff, manage vendors and contractors, ensure safe and environmentally responsible utility asset operation, meet contract deliverables, and develop/manage O&M budgets and cost-saving measures.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma (or equivalent) and at least 7 years supervisory or managerial experience in the operation and maintenance of powerhouses/utility systems/chemical processes (or similar assets).
  • •Alternatively, an associate’s degree or industry-recognized certificate plus at least 5 years supervisory or managerial experience.
  • •Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree plus at least 3 years supervisory or managerial experience in similar operations.
  • •Working knowledge of powerhouse and utility systems/equipment including gas turbines, steam boilers, electrical distribution, heat exchangers, transformers, motors, pumps, piping/valves, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • •Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
