Job Summary

Operate and control an asphalt paving machine as a screed operator to level hot mix to the correct thickness and maintain proper depth, grade, and yield. Follow MSHA/OSHA/DOT and site safety requirements, complete daily safety assignments, and adjust screed height and angle for even distribution. Work closely with the paving crew, identify grade differences, and perform additional duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

•Follow all safety rules and regulations (MSHA/OSHA/DOT) and Pennsy Supply requirements.
•Complete daily safety assignments, including area inspections, pre-shifts, and JSA’s.
•Maintain asphalt depth, grade, and yield during paving operations.
•Operate free-floating screed to level hot mix to correct thickness for evenness.
•Manipulate screed controls and collaborate with the paving crew to ensure proper distribution; adjust screed height and angle as needed.
