Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck systems including electrical/brake/cooling systems, starters/alternators, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines (gas and diesel), transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
  • •Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment using test instruments; road test vehicles to confirm proper operation.
  • •Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on a company-issued service truck and reconcile inventory periodically.
  • •Lead jobsites and mentor other Mobile Diesel Technicians; perform Mobile Technician Manager duties in their absence and support quality control inspections.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma/GED and 7 years of experience (or an equivalent combination such as 5 years with a related degree/certification, or 9 years in a related field).
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary for required job duties.
  • •Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
  • •Obtain ASE C1 (Service Consultant) certification within 18 months.
  • •Obtain 608/609 certification within 18 months (and be able to pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical requirements).
