Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead the Global Policy Research function, setting vision, direction, and execution of a high-impact research agenda
  • •Analyze economic impact of policy proposals on the DoorDash platform and stakeholders (Dashers, merchants, consumers)
  • •Produce economic impact reports and public analyses for policymakers, media, and other audiences
  • •Translate complex research into compelling external narratives with Public Policy and Communications teams, including meetings with policymakers and media
  • •Engage with academics and think tanks to build an academic foundation for proposed policies; coordinate with Analytics, Finance, Communications, and Strategy teams

Key Requirements

  • •PhD in Economics or a related field
  • •10+ years of experience in economic research, data analytics, economic or management consulting, or a related quantitative role with a track record of influencing senior stakeholders
  • •Expertise in SQL and statistical analysis (e.g., hypothesis testing, experimentation, regressions) and familiarity with analytics/visualization tools; ability to leverage AI tools to scale research impact
  • •Experience managing direct reports, including mentorship and recruitment participation
  • •Comfort working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and balancing rigor with speed
