Job Summary

Contribute to development projects across sectors by supporting concept studies, planning application work, and technical approval submissions through to construction issue. Work within WSP’s Planning and Development Development Team, collaborating with clients, stakeholders, and internal/external design teams while ensuring deliverables meet budget, programme, technical standards, and legal requirements. Develop technical capability with support from the Manchester team.

Key Responsibilities

•Contribute to concept studies, strategies, and drawing packages; lead planning applications, technical approval submissions, and construction issue.
•Support delivery of development projects across sectors and clients.
•Actively work on several varied projects at the same time.
•Engage with clients and manage stakeholders; liaise with design teams internally and externally.
•Deliver tasks to budget, programme, technical standards, and legal requirements.

Key Requirements

•Knowledge of highway design, drainage strategy and design, flood risk assessment and management, utility design and planning, and the Development Industry.
•Ability to produce, with supervision, infrastructure masterplans, site appraisals, technical reports, design calculations and construction drawings.
•Knowledge of relevant design codes such as Water UK Sewerage Sector Guidance, Design Manual for Roads & Bridges, Manual for Streets, and Local Authority Design Guidance for contract and technical approvals.
•Ability to use software including Info Drainage, Micro Drainage, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and/or PDS.
•Postgraduate (or equivalent) experience and working towards Chartership (or equivalent experience and responsibility).
