Key Responsibilities

  • •Act as structural lead and engineer of record for substations, switchyards, and other electrical infrastructure projects (green and brown field).
  • •Perform structural engineering calculations and develop analytical models for structural steel and concrete design.
  • •Coordinate with project engineers/managers on workload forecasts, design schedules, and civil/structural design budgets.
  • •Direct completion of engineering drawings with the civil/structural design team and collaborate across disciplines on general arrangements and vendor procurement packages.
  • •Prepare project technical specifications and contract documents, check peer work, and provide mentorship; occasional travel to AECOM locations and client sites.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related field plus 6 years of relevant experience (or demonstrated equivalency).
  • •Professional Engineering Licensure (PE).
  • •Experience in structural design for overhead and underground transmission and distribution systems.
  • •Experience with substation projects.
  • •Experience with industry codes and standards (e.g., NESC, ASCE 113/10/48, IEEE 605/693, AISC 360, IBC, ACI 318, NEC).
