Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage a team responsible for operating energy generation and ancillary facilities, ensuring safe execution and adherence to standards, procedures, and environmental and safety regulations.
  • •Oversee safe, reliable, and economical day-to-day plant operations within complex regulatory requirements and ensure plant output needs are met.
  • •Develop and maintain emergency action plan procedures, lead/participate in staff training for floods, earthquakes, fire, and equipment or structural failures.
  • •Ensure effectiveness of the operations training program and promote, train, and monitor safety practices.
  • •Monitor and manage expenditures, develop and enforce plant operations procedures/policies, coordinate resourcing planning, and support professional development and annual performance management.

Key Requirements

  • •Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • •Typically 8+ years of progressively responsible experience in power plant operations, maintenance, engineering, and related support activities.
  • •Preferred 2+ years of management/supervisory experience.
  • •Experience managing bargaining employees is preferred; combined cycle power plant experience desired.
  • •Advanced knowledge of plant systems/equipment, operations-specific performance metrics, and environmental and industry compliance requirements (e.g., OSHA, NERC, FERC, NEC, NESC, NFPA 70).
