Job Summary

Provide technical guidance to strengthen and align health practitioners’ regulation across the Eastern Mediterranean Region. Conduct situation analysis of current structures, policies, and regulation practices; identify policy–practice gaps; and develop recommendations. Design and facilitate consultations with high-level officials and stakeholders, then lead creation of common regulatory frameworks, including system elements, entry-to-practice standards, and a code of conduct.

Key Responsibilities

•Conduct a comprehensive situation analysis using desk review, group discussions, interviews, and related methods.
•Analyze findings to identify policy–practice gaps and capacities for regulating practitioners.
•Develop recommendations and key actions to guide further work in the process.
•Design and facilitate two consultations with high-level officials and relevant stakeholders to discuss outputs and common frameworks.
•Lead development of three common frameworks covering regulatory system design elements, entry-to-practice standards, and a common code of conduct.

Key Requirements

•Advanced university degree (Master’s level or above) in social sciences, public health, health and/or health workforce policies, or management.
•Over 10 years of relevant experience in public health, health workforce policies, planning, and regulation of health practitioners.
•Extensive background and international experience of health practitioners’ regulation.
•Excellent experience supporting health workforce regulation in similar contexts.
•Excellent report writing and analytical skills.
