Key Responsibilities

  • •Define and enforce data engineering standards — pipeline design patterns, naming conventions, modelling approaches (e.g. Data Vault). Make architecture decisions and translate business/domain requirements into technical solutions.
  • •Design and oversee end-to-end data pipelines: ingestion, transformation, loading across Raw Data Vault, Business Data Vault, UJT and CORE layers using tools like Databricks, Azure Synapse, and IDMC.
  • •Ensure data quality at the pipeline level — defining checks, monitoring and resolving data issues before they propagate downstream.
  • •Guide junior/mid engineers, set the bar for code quality, and conduct reviews to boost team capabilities.
  • •Collaborate with Data Modellers, MDM/RDM specialists, Data Architects, and IT leads to align technical implementation with business intent and governance requirements.

Key Requirements

  • •Hands-on experience building and operating large-scale data pipelines (batch and streaming) with SQL, Python, and distributed computing (PySpark/Scala)
  • •Proficiency with Spark, Kafka, Airflow and cloud-native equivalents (Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, AWS Glue)
  • •Experience with modern lakehouse/warehouse platforms (Databricks, Azure Synapse, IDMC) and data modelling (Data Vault, Kimball)
  • •Strong data quality practices (profiling, validation, lineage) and familiarity with governance tools (IDMC, Purview)
  • •CI/CD for data pipelines (GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps), infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes)
