Job Summary

Lead the hedge accounting team delivering technical excellence for managed services clients. Serve as the primary SME for ASC 815 and IFRS 9, review hedge documentation and effectiveness testing, and guide clients through complex hedge accounting and de-designation scenarios. Own deliverable quality, journal entries, disclosures, and audit support while mentoring the team. Drive scalable process improvements, KPIs, and client/auditor escalation across each close cycle.

Key Responsibilities

•Serve as the primary SME for hedge accounting under ASC 815 and IFRS 9, providing authoritative technical guidance on hedge types, de-designation, and disclosures.
•Review and approve hedge documentation, designation memos, risk management objectives, and effectiveness testing methodologies across the client portfolio.
•Oversee quantitative and qualitative effectiveness assessments (including regression analysis, dollar-offset, and hypothetical derivative methods) on prospective and retrospective bases.
•Manage, mentor, and develop the derivative accounting team, including performance expectations, coaching, and resource planning.
•Drive process improvements across the hedge accounting lifecycle by developing scalable workflows, templates, close checklists, and team KPIs, and lead retrospectives after each close cycle.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 176,000 - 215,000 annually

Key Requirements

•CPA required; advanced degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
•10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 7 years focused on derivative instruments and hedge accounting under ASC 815 and IFRS 9.
•Proven experience managing and developing accounting teams in public accounting, managed services, or corporate finance.
•Deep technical fluency in ASC 815 and IFRS 9, including hedge accounting elections, effectiveness testing methodologies, and disclosure requirements.
•Strong understanding of derivative instruments across asset classes including interest rate swaps, cross-currency swaps, FX forwards, options, and commodity derivatives.
