  • •Communicate regulatory developments and implement changes to maintain compliance.
  • •Serve as the privacy subject matter expert for new products, initiatives, and processes, including privacy impact assessments.
  • •Liaise with regulators (including the Office of the Privacy Commissioner) for information requests, breach notifications, and regulatory examinations/audits.
  • •Investigate and respond to privacy requests, complaints, and inquiries; develop and maintain oversight documentation and privacy training support.

Key Requirements

  • •At least 7 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a legal role within a financial institution, telecommunications, or insurance company.
  • •At least 5 years of experience specifically in privacy.
  • •At least 7 years of experience working with Canadian banking legislation, laws, industry standards, and regulations in the financial services sector.
  • •At least 3 years of experience with audit and regulatory exams.
  • •CIPP(C) / CIPM designation (or equivalent) and a bachelor’s degree are preferred.
