Job Summary

Lead the development and review of track geometry and railway infrastructure designs for complex passenger and freight rail projects, serving as discipline lead for track design decisions. Provide technical guidance and mentorship, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate designs, and conduct technical reviews, risk assessments, constructability analysis, and value engineering. Support project planning and client relations while contributing to proposals, technical scopes, cost estimates, and client presentations.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the development and review of track geometry and railway infrastructure designs in compliance with industry standards, codes, and client requirements.
•Serve as discipline lead for track design on rail and transit projects, making decisions on complex work-approach issues and team task completion.
•Provide technical guidance and mentorship to employees, fostering technical excellence across the practice.
•Collaborate cross-functionally with multidisciplinary teams to ensure design integration, technical alignment, and project optimization.
•Conduct technical reviews, risk assessments, constructability analysis, construction staging, and value engineering exercises; support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and client engagements.

Key Requirements

•10+ years of experience in railway track engineering, including delivery of complex multidisciplinary rail transit projects.
•Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario.
•Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related) from an accredited university engineering program, or equivalent.
•Strong knowledge of railway design and construction standards including AREMA, CN, CPKC, Metrolinx Track Standards, TTC, TCRP, and applicable Transport Canada requirements.
•Advanced proficiency with railway design software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRail Designer, corridor modeling platforms, and Navisworks.
