Job Summary

Serve as a trusted advisor on EU legislation covering food, packaging, and consumer product requirements. You’ll develop advocacy strategies, monitor EU legislative developments, and translate policy into commercial risk mitigation and growth opportunities. Partner with Legal, Compliance, Product, and Strategy to analyze regulatory trends, draft position papers and consultation responses, and represent Avery Dennison through trade associations and Brussels engagement.

•Develop and execute high-impact advocacy strategies and shape business positioning on key EU policy files.
•Act as a liaison to internal functions, monitoring legislation and analyzing trends to mitigate risks and identify opportunities.
•Draft position papers, consultation responses, and factsheets to support advocacy and internal implementation.
•Represent the company through trade associations, advancing Avery Dennison priorities within their frameworks.

Key Requirements

•Design and execute advocacy initiatives on EU legislation for packaging circularity, food waste, and Digital Product Passport standards.
•Have deep knowledge of the EU decision-making process with proven engagement and influence in Brussels.
•Bring 5–6 years’ experience in government affairs or public affairs roles, ideally in a corporate setting with ownership of advocacy campaigns.
•Serve as a strategic liaison across the business, analyzing legislative trends and partnering with product, compliance, and strategy to manage regulatory risks and opportunities.
•Demonstrate excellent external communication and public speaking, including experience working with the European Parliament and/or European Commission.
