Key Responsibilities

  • •Adhere to health, safety, and environment practices and maintain good housekeeping within a controlled risk environment.
  • •Carry out pipefitting and structural fitting, including selecting and cutting pipes, installing pipe supports, and assembling/installing mechanical components.
  • •Install, align, and calibrate machinery components; fit bearings, belts, gearboxes, and pulleys; and perform overhauls and replacements for crushers and vibrating screens.
  • •Maintain and support equipment utilisation through effective maintenance, including identifying and reporting defects/equipment failures and estimating repair time to the Supervisor.
  • •Execute installation/commissioning and post-installation testing to specifications, and assist with oil sampling (taking and labelling) and shift handover of outstanding tasks.

Key Requirements

  • •Grade 12 / N3 Technical.
  • •Trade certificate as a Fitter.
  • •SA Drivers Licence.
  • •2 years of operational maintenance experience as a Fitter, specifically with primary and secondary crushers, screens, feeders, stackers, and reclaimers.
  • •Knowledge of safety standards and regulations, hydraulic systems, conveyor-related components, and practical oil sampling methods.
